Rawa Idli

Ingredients:
1 cup wheat sooji/rava (medium thick)
1/2 tea spn mustard seeds
1/2 tea spn grated and crushed ginger
2-3 finely chopped green chilies
1 tea spn chana daal
1/4 tea spn soda
3/4 cup grated carrot
1 tbl spn cashews(optional)
2-3 strands of coriander leaves
2 tbl spn grated coconut(fresh or frozen)
1 cup yogurt/curd
1-2 tbl spn oil
Salt


Method:
Take a pan add 1 sp oil.
Roast sooji till a nice aroma comes out.
 Heat oil and add mustard seeds. When they start popping, add ginger, green chilies, chana daal and fry for sometime. Switch off the heat and immediately add  the roasted sooji, mix well.
Add salt, soda, carrot, coriander leaves, coconut, yogurt/curd and mix well. Leave it for around 30mins.
Grease an idli stand. Keep half cashew and then put the mixture on top (so that when the idlis are removed, the cashews can be seen on the top). Steam for around 12-15mins.
Serve hot.

Aloo daal poha



This tangy snack is an all time favorite breakfast dish throughout India with slight variations. Made with flattened rice and potatoes makes seasoned with green chillies, onions, coriander leaves and lemom, makes it a sumptuous and healthy breakfast or a tea time snack. Serve it warm with a hot cuppa chai and some sev bujia.

Aloo Poha


Poha is flattened or beaten rice, is an easy-to-cook breakfast recipe. This type of flattened rice absorbs water and gets swollen which is then used to make the breakfast dish. There two varieties of flattened rice – thin and thick because of their thickness. Poha is also used in other snack items such as mixture or chiwda or many more.



Ingredients:

2 cups Poha (Beaten Rice)
1 Potatoes
1 tomato
1 Onions
 2 Green Chillies
1/4 tsp Mustard Seeds
1 sprig Curry leaves
 4 tblsp Oil
1 tsp black pepper
1 Lemon
Few Corainder leaves
Salt to taste


How to make aloo poha :

Soak the poha in water. Wash and drain all the water and keep aside.
Peel and cut the potatoes into small cubes, chop the onions,tomato, chillies, corainder leaves.
Heat oil and put  mustard seeds, curry leaves and fry until they crackle.
Add potatoes , saute for few minutes , then add chopped onions, chillies.then add tomato and
cook till they are done.
Add the poha,salt,black pepper, corainder leaves and stir.
Keep it on slow flame for 5- 7 minutes.
Let it cool for sometime and add then lemon juice.
Serve as is or with an extra zing of spicy Bhujia
